Our Open Afternoons for prospective parents are held in October and November, 2026 dates to be confirmed, please contact us on the email below to express interest and we will email you when we have confirmed the dates. We strongly suggest you attend our open afternoons if you are considering us for Reception as our teaching staff will be free to meet you and answer any questions you may have.
In-year admissions- simply email admin@scotton-lingerfield.n-yorks.sch.uk to arrange and time for a visit. Our friendly team are happy to answer any admissions questions! We currently have spaces available in Year 2, Year 3 and Year 5.
We have one intake in September for children starting in Reception. Our EYFS classroom has its own all weather outdoor area for learning and play. Our Reception children benefit from Forest School sessions in our woodland on a weekly basis throughout the year too.
We also accept children mid-year who are moving into the area, subject to class numbers. After Reception, children are taught in mixed year group classes- Year 1 and 2 together, years 3 and 4 together, and 5 and 6 together. We find that our mixed year groups have many benefits including cognitive, emotional and social development.
Our school is one family, we average around 95 pupils which means that children from all year groups develop strong and lasting bonds together.
