School Council

Our school council consists of children from each year group from Reception to Year 6.

Each child is elected by their class to represent the views of all children and to think of different ways in which we can improve our school. They meet regularly with Mirs Griffiths to discuss issues that are important and to support our school’s leaders.

During the meetings, School Council members have the opportunity to write the agenda, the meeting minutes and contribute to our discussions.

To date we have discussed and planned charity events for Children in Need and Christmas Jumper Day as well as being involved in selling items to raise money for the Poppy Appeal.  We have also organised a collection for the Trussel Trust food bank and Knaresborough Bites as part of our Harvest Festival celebrations.

The School Council have also organised a jam jar tombola for the Christmas Fair to help raise money for our school.

Every few weeks we go through the school suggestion box and make decisions as to who could help us make positive changes for our school.  Our suggestions are then acted upon and we feed back to our class on what actions have taken place in relation to their suggestions.
